Megan Scully, Lead Toddler Teacher

Megan has over twenty years of experience working in childhood education in various, diverse roles. She is an adamant believer in the philosophy that every child has the unlimited capacity to learn and it is our role as educators to discover new and exciting ways to teach them.

Megan’s favorite memories of growing up on the New Jersey shore are times spent exploring the crevices in the jetties searching for hermit crabs, starfish and anything else she could find.

Vacations meant camping, swimming in the creeks and collecting lightning bugs. Her love of nature and all it has to offer brought solace to her life and a desire to learn more about the world around her. Boston Outdoor Preschool Network gives her the opportunity to share her love of nature and excitement for learning with the children who she believes thrive within a nature based education program.

Megan has over twenty years of experience working in childhood education in various, diverse roles. Early in her career she uncovered her passion for working with children on the autism spectrum. She has experience as a program assistant teaching children with special needs and continues to work as an applied behavioral analysis behavioral technician. She is an adamant believer in the philosophy that every child has the unlimited capacity to learn and it is our role as educators to discover new and exciting ways to teach them.

She obtained her 200 hour yoga certification through Down Under School of Yoga with a specialization in yoga for autism and non-verbal learners obtained through Voice Colors Yoga. She intends to incorporate her yoga background into her teaching at BOPN. Outside of school, Megan’s passion is cycling. She participates in several 100 mile century rides per year in support of various charities, including those who support autism education and advocacy. Most of her free time is spent on her bikes, exploring the beauty of New England. She still stops along the way to check out every frog, turtle and snake that crosses her path!
