Jacob Taranta, Teacher

Jacob has always loved interacting with younger children because of their curiosity, energy, joy, and the ability to watch them learn/grow at an incredible rate.

Jacob graduated from Wesleyan University, where he majored in Psychology and minored in Environmental Studies. Much of Jacob’s passion for nature education comes from his dad, who gave him hands on lessons in the woods from a very young age. From there, Jacob’s love for nature and the outdoors took off, and it has led to many lifelong hobbies such as hiking, camping, and playing a variety of sports. Jacob has always loved interacting with younger children because of their curiosity, energy, joy, and the ability to watch them learn/grow at an incredible rate. He was a camp counselor for several years and most recently spent a year with City Year Boston, where I he served as a peer mentor/tutor for high school students. As a diehard Philadelphian, any free time not spent outside is spent watching or reading anything related to the Eagles, Phillies, and Sixers.
