Zoë Obourn, Education Coordinator
Growing up in Connecticut, Zoe spent time playing in the woods, exploring creeks, and going out on the lake with family and friends.
She loves to get messy and stay active while teaching and learning!
Zoë has worked in early education since graduating with a degree in Child Development. Her passion for teaching young learners blossomed as she spent time in a variety of settings, including traditional daycares and as a fitness instructor for preschoolers and toddlers. After using her Psychology background to guide her teaching for several years, Zoë pursued a Master’s in Early Education at BU, graduating from the program in May of 2025.
Growing up and in every day, Zoë spends much of her time exploring the outdoors. Whether it be on annual family trips to the Adirondacks where they hike, swim, and boat all day long, or exploring the small beauties of the woods and parks around Boston, she has always found much peace and abundance through nature.
She recognized that a strong connection to nature is critical for humans of all ages, and quickly realized that she wanted to help facilitate those same kinds of magical, organic experiences for the students she taught.
This led Zoë to join the BOPN team, where she has worked as a Lead Teacher at multiple sites. She will return to teaching in fall of 2026, after a year as BOPN’s Education Coordinator—supporting our teachers, children, and families in building strong communities and harnessing connections with our natural world.
In her spare time, Zoë enjoys arts and crafts, playing cards and board games with her husband, visiting ponds or the ocean for a dip, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.
