Zakiyah’s teaching philosophy centers on child-led, Reggio-inspired learning experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, and a love of the natural world. She holds a CDA from Mount Wachusett Community College and also studied healthcare management—giving her a unique perspective on fostering safe, supportive, and well-organized learning environments.

During the pandemic, Zakiyah studied emergency medical training and was recruited for Boston EMS, but discovered her true passion is working with children to support their growth, exploration, and self-expression.

Most recently, Zakiyah served as a Learning Assistant in an integrated Pre-K classroom where she collaborated with families, therapists, and educators to meet the needs of diverse learners. She loves creating opportunities for children to discover the world around them, ask questions, and engage in meaningful experiences that combine play, nature, and creativity.

Zakiyah’s favorite hobbies include cooking, going for runs, and designing hands-on projects with her Cricut. Outside the classroom, you’ll often find her exploring trails, spending time at the beach, and crafting projects that inspire curiosity and imagination in children.
