Matthew Heilgeist, Board of Directors

BOPN’s mission to open kids up to the natural world truly resonates with Matt, and he is thrilled to serve on the Board of Directors.

After 20 years working in maintenance for a major airline, Matthew went on to study residential and marine carpentry. He is a skilled craftsman, who enjoys helping others with projects and their homes.

As a child, Matthew loved spending time outdoors. Over the years his interests have grown to include hiking, biking, kayaking, and even igloo camping!

Going to the beach with his kids and their friends brings Matthew great joy, as does any opportunity to explore and experience nature with children.
