Lisa Hum, Substitute Teacher
Lisa believes that free play is essential to young children’s learning and development.
Lisa has been a preschool teacher for ten years, after a long career as a non-profit researcher. She has worked in public and private early childhood programs in Somerville and Brookline.
Lisa respects each child as an individual, and enjoys getting to know them and their families.
She believes that free play is essential to young children’s learning and development, and has wonderful memories of playing in the fields and woods near her home as a child. She loves the idea that through BOPN she can bring these opportunities for growth and exploration to her current students.
Lisa has an MEd in early childhood education from Lesley University, and a BA in history from McGill University. Her favorite things outside of school are reading, walking her two dogs, baking, and most of all spending time with her two daughters.
