Julie Mangan, Teacher
Connecting people of all ages to nature is a common thread that weaves through all of Julie’s professional experience, including her current role as Malden Community Garden Coordinator.
Julie’s class is a welcoming and loving place that inspires your children to be as excited about nature as she is! Growing up in rural Connecticut, Julie explored forests, swamps, gardens, and fields. All of this time she spent outside built her confidence and creativity as well as a true curiosity for all things in the natural world.
As a wife, mother, gardener, farmer, and creative force, Julie pulls from her childhood memories and current experiences to make your child’s BOPN experience magical, memorable, and fun!
Connecting people of all ages to nature is a common thread that weaves through all of Julie’s experience. This includes: 12 yrs. as the Malden Community Garden Coordinator, 3 yrs. as Farm Coordinator at CHS-Jackson Farm, and 2 yrs. as a Tinkergarten Leader. And we’re thrilled to be part of this list, as the 2026-27 school year marks Julie’s 4th year teaching at BOPN!
Julie’s hobbies include camping, hiking, bike riding and spending time with the family pets, which include 4 adorable guinea pigs and one very handsome bearded dragon.
