Emily Carter, Toddler Connections Leader
With 19 years as an early childhood educator, Emily is passionate about giving young children enriching experiences that hold opportunities for autonomy, and foster a life-long love of learning.
Spending many of her early years on Winthrop beach, Emily developed a great love for marine wildlife and conservation education. After receiving a bachelors degree from Framingham State University in Environmental Studies, Emily pursued a position at the North Carolina Fort Fisher Aquarium as a marine educator. Her passion for marine life led to work assisting local organizations on the NC coastline with sea turtle rescue efforts. Emily continued her focus on educating toddler and preschool-aged children through a Montessori Lead Guide certification and Nature-Based Education Certification. She is always searching for opportunities that enhance her ability to connect with children and the natural world!
Emily incorporates nature-based education into her two young children’s homeschool curriculum, and they love exploring the incredibly diverse ecosystems of New England. She also enjoys traveling around the US with her family and friends, reading, painting, and learning new languages!
Emily believes a child’s overall growth and development directly rely on the relationships forged and experiences had in the earliest years of life. She finds honor in being a pillar of this developmental stage, and is driven to create safe and inviting learning opportunities for children to find inspiration and seek adventure in nature. Emily is elated to join the BOPN community and connect with families in our Toddler Connections program!
