Michelle Gonzalez, Lead Teacher

In addition to English, Michelle can communicate in Spanish, French, Italian, and American Sign Language.

Michelle is a sunny California native. However, it wasn't until she moved to the Pacific Northwest (Seattle) that she discovered her love for nature and the outdoors; her fondest memories are snacking on wild berries in the nearby forests... and getting to know the banana slugs! She pursued her degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Washington - while simultaneously working at a French/English bilingual school, and volunteering at a school with deaf and hard-of-hearing children.

After graduation, Michelle moved to Florence, Italy to explore new horizons. Here, she taught English at an international school and attended a Reggio Emilia (pedagogy) workshop IN Reggio Emilia! After spending a few years abroad, she moved to Boston in summer 2022 in order to teach at BOPN and to share her love of nature with the children and families.

In addition to English, Michelle can communicate in Spanish, French, Italian, and American Sign Language.  In her free time, Michelle likes to sew, crochet, and take long walks with her 14-year-old "puppy", Bella.
