Ellie Steele, Intern

Ellie has a passion for making the outdoors accessible to everyone!

Ellie is currently a Junior at Northeastern, studying Human Services and Psychology with the goal of an eventual master's in social work. Growing up in Portland, Oregon gave her the opportunity to experience nature-based education from the perspective of a student. This created a passion for making the outdoors accessible to everyone. She returned to one of these programs as a camp counselor in high school and helped teach sixth graders from local public schools about plants. Ellie is excited to not only help out with BOPN’s groundbreaking program, but to spend some time outside of the city.

Throughout her life, Ellie chose many nature-based hobbies such as hiking, trail running, and birding in order to spend as much time as possible outside. Some of her other hobbies include crocheting, reading, and spending time with her cat.
