Summer Programs 2023

BOPN offers summer programming for
ages 15 months - 8 years

Our Montessori and Forest School inspired programs are designed to foster invention, problem solving, persistence, and important social emotional skills.  Through play, engagement with the environment, and exploration of carefully curated materials, youth develop the habits of mind that lead not only to school readiness but also to meaningful friendships.

Confidence

Our summer programing helps children build confidence by....

  • providing children with  opportunities to teach and learn from one another

  • setting developmentally appropriate expectations for each individual child

  • permitting youth to engage in developmentally appropriate "risky play" while also maintaining overall safety

Creativity

Through a summer out-of-doors, children develop creativity by...

  • exploring open-ended fine motor activities

  • engaging in dramatic and imaginary play opportunities such as building forts, bridges, and cities

  • creating art from natural materials

Cognition

Cognition is sparked during a summer at BOPN by....

  • closely watching insects, plants, and wildlife and sharing observations

  • posing and testing hypotheses about the natural world

  • developing precise vocabulary for the flora and fauna in the environment

"BOPN offers kids more than just an education; it offers them an experience. The teachers foster confidence, independence, and caring; they teach the skills that will be a solid foundation for our kids to build on, and they do it in a natural setting that creates a love of nature and the environment."
