Kaitlyn O’Shaughnessy, Summer Intern

Kaitlyn is inspired by the curiosity and excitement that children bring on a day-to-day basis, and cannot wait to learn and explore alongside them.

Kaitlyn grew up in Massachusetts, where playing outside with her brothers and friends was a huge part of her childhood. Now a student at Bates College in Maine, she and her friends love taking advantage of the nature around them by going on hikes and visiting beaches! While studying abroad in Europe, she had opportunities to explore a variety of amazing landscapes in places like Iceland, Norway, and Edinburgh.

Kaitlyn has always loved working with kids, and that passion grew deeper during her college coursework in early education and developmental psychology.

Understanding the connection between spending time in nature and having a healthy, enriching lifestyle motivated Kaitlyn to join BOPN and contribute to our mission.

When she’s not busy at Bates College, Kaitlyn enjoys playing ice hockey, reading, baking, and running!
