Jenni Putnam, Executive Director

With over 20 years in nonprofit leadership focused on youth and family programming, Jenni brings a deep commitment to building organizations that help children and communities thrive.

Jenni holds a B.A. in Elementary Education from Wheelock College and a MBA in Nonprofit Management from Johnson & Wales University. Her career has spanned operations, program design, and camp/childcare management, giving her a broad, hands-on understanding of what it takes to run mission-driven organizations well — from the ground up.

Jenni believes that strong leadership starts with listening: to families, to educators, and to the community an organization serves. She’s drawn to environments like BOPN’s, where the outdoors isn’t an add-on, but the foundation of how children learn, grow, and build resilience.

Outside of work, Jenni loves spending time with her kids, walking her dog, hiking, and immersing herself in theater production—bringing people together to create something meaningful, both on stage and off.

Jenni is thrilled to join the BOPN community as Executive Director, where she looks forward to supporting children’s growth through exploration, play, and connection with nature.
