Jarred Rose, Site Director at Franklin Park Zoo UPK

Jarred is very involved in early ed advocacy.

He has previously served on the Governing Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Association for the Education of Young Children, and the Common Start Coalition.

Jarred joins BOPN in 2025 as Site Director at the Franklin Park Zoo UPK program. Originally getting his Bachelor's degree in Political Science from UMass Amherst, Jarred worked in several other fields before finally realizing that he loved working with young kids. Seeing happy smiles everyday makes it all worth it.

A big believer in the Reggio Emilia "the environment is the third teacher" school of thought, Jarred is very excited to be a part of an organization that fosters a focus on nature, and to partner with the Zoo in teaching children a love of the natural world around them.

Jarred loves creating engaging play areas, and incorporating mental health lessons into classrooms for both kids and teachers. He has a Masters of Education in Early Childhood Education from Salem State University, and is very involved in early ed advocacy—previously serving on the Governing Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Association for the Education of Young Children and the Common Start Coalition.

In his spare time, Jarred enjoys video games, nature walks, going to the gym, traveling, and spending time with his family.
