Vanessa is very excited to join BOPN this summer! When it's not summer, you can find her teaching Pre-K. During her twelve years of teaching in early childhood classrooms, Vanessa’s planned and facilitated children's learning through emergent learning projects that integrate literacy, science, social studies and math. Vanessa strives to gain a deep understanding of who a child is intellectually, emotionally, and socially and to create an environment and educational experience that fosters children's sense of self. She’s particularly interested in young children’s inner lives, receiving a certificate in child and adolescent intervention through the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis to enhance her knowledge of how conscious and unconscious influences on human development, motivation, and interpersonal interactions affect a child’s intellectual and emotional learning.
In her spare time, Vanessa enjoys biking, sketching, and exploring all that New England nature has to offer.
