Safa Amessaghrou

Visiting Teacher

Spring and Summer

Originally from Morocco, Safa moved to the U.S more than a decade ago to further her studies. She quickly became involved in her community, volunteering at  local preschools as a teacher.  It was through this experience that she discovered a profound passion to work with young children, and decided to make Early Childhood Education her new career.

Nature and the outdoors have always played a significant role in Safa's life. The global pandemic further deepened her bond with nature. During this period, she found solace in spending extended periods outdoors with her toddler. Intrigued by the philosophy of Forest School, she realized its principles resonated with her own beliefs and the Montessori teaching methods she practiced.

Throughout her career, Safa has held various roles at numerous preschools across the Boston area. Safa is certified from the American Montessori Society and is recognized as a Lead Teacher by the Massachusetts Department of Early Childhood and Care. She also has a Masters of Education from Gordon College.

Prior to teaching, Safa was an accomplished software engineer with a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Picardie Jules Verne.

Safa is keen to delve deeper into the philosophy of Forest School and enhance her knowledge as a Montessori educator by joining BOPN as a visiting teacher!
