Gianluca Yornet de Rosas
Gianluca Yornet de Rosas was born in Mendoza, Argentina, at the foothills of the Andes, where he found his love and care for the natural environment. He graduated from high school in Argentina in 2018, but his deep passion and curiosity for education and international understanding led him to win a prestigious and competitive full scholarship to study at a United World College in Japan. There, he excelled in his academics, as well as community organizing, especially in relation to international affairs, photography, and environmental engagement.
Currently, Gianluca is studying at Bates College in the state of Maine, with a major in Environmental Studies, and a minor in French and Francophone Studies. At the same time, he is also working as a student photographer. Moved by his love for nature, community, and international affairs, Gianluca is aspiring to work in research, public policy, urban planning, or community management.
Gianluca is hoping that through working with BOPN, he can learn more about the importance of nature-based education, especially in urban environments. When he is not studying, you can find Gianluca taking photographs, writing, playing instruments, caring for his plants, or playing with his hedgehog.
