Emma lives in Germany with her family and their animals, and is interning with BOPN to learn more about the culture and outdoor education in the US. Emma has enjoyed other international experiences, such as working on a farm in France for six months. Growing up as a child, Emma’s preschool emphasized the importance of spending time outdoors. This love spilled over into her adult life, where Emma refreshes herself in the green gardens of her campus and the forest nearby. Her love of children springs from the time she spent babysitting and volunteering. Emma often organizes children's programmes with handicrafts, singing, playing and listening to stories for small children. In her free time, Emma enjoys playing the violin, baking, delivering newspapers, dancing, snowboarding, and skiing.
