Daisha Toomer
SuccessLink Youth Leader
Summer
Arboretum Location
Growing up in Boston, Daisha spent much of her time exploring outdoors with her cousins. She would often excitedly search for new critters under rocks and play in the mud pretending to be cooking with whatever materials she could find around her outside. Most of her fondest memories are of being outdoors. These cherished memories are what inspired her to work with younger kids, so she can help create spaces where they too can enjoy forming positive, lasting memories.
Daisha graduated high school from Dana Hall in 2021 and currently attends Northeastern University. Her career goal is to become a clinical child psychologist.
In addition to teaching at BOPN during Summer 2021, Daisha has worked with young children in other school settings. She first started in 2018, when she volunteered to mentor a small group of third graders at the All-Star program at a school in Framingham. She continued to volunteer there for three years until the pandemic hit. She has also worked at a summer school with five and six year olds.
In her free time, Daisha loves to be busy and is often on the go outside of her house! She appreciates spending quality time with her family, especially her younger cousins, reading, and
hanging out with friends.
