Growing up in the city did not stop Carlea's enjoyment and exploration of the outdoors! The highlights of her childhood were camp trips to the forest where she would hike and swim in lakes and ponds—truly experiencing a natural environment so different from the city. After eight years at her Summer camp, she remained there as a camp counselor for the next five summers. From her own experiences, Carlea has come to strongly believe in the educational and healing properties gained through a nature-based education.
Currently, she is studying Psychology and Afro-American studies in hopes to one day become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor available to people and children of all ages. In her free time, you can find Carlea attempting to learn how to roller-skate, nose deep in her latest crafting project, or spending time with friends enjoying the sun.
