Malden/Melrose Morning Program

A fully outdoor, mixed-aged program

BOPN's morning class at Pine Banks Park will spend their days in the forest and the extraordinary wooded areas. The children will be active participants in selecting which place we visit each day and how we explore them. 

 

Families drop-off and pick-up their children at the same outdoor spot every day.  We begin with a brief circle time that includes our greetings, songs, seasonal events, and safety rules. We then hike to our "adventure spot," which varies each day. We carefully select these outdoor "classrooms" for safety and diversity of natural elements that support children's imagination and creativity. 

 

At the adventure spot, children are free to play, explore, read, and participate in self-initiated or teacher-guided projects, all under close supervision of our talented, dedicated team of teachers. 

 

Just before pick up, the class will hike back to the designated pick up/drop off spot and play or read a story while waiting for families to arrive.

We are thrilled to announce that our Malden class will be led by our highly experienced teacher, Teri Torchia.

 

Our morning class in Malden will serve ages 2.5 - 6. Mixed age classrooms mimic the family structure and allow teachers to focus on developing each child's individual capacities.  In this setting, older students become leaders as they teach and guide their younger counterparts.  Younger students are provided with attainable examples in areas of independence, creative play, and early academic skills.

 

 Classes run 9AM-12PM.

  • Monday - Friday: $1080 per month

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday: $750 per month

  • Tuesday, Thursday: $550 per month

Scholarships available. 

 

We recommend five mornings/week; however, we can accommodate 2 and 3 morning/week enrollments.  To learn more, please submit an interest form.

Malden/Melrose Forest Playgroup

Your child will be eligible to join our preschool programming when they turn 2.5.  Until then, we have another option for you.  We are thrilled to let you know that we will be offering Fall 2022 Toddler Connections at our Malden Site!  Toddler Connections (TC) is a four week play group for our community’s littlest explorers ages 6 months to 2.5 years, led by seasoned teaching staff . Children are accompanied by parents or other caregivers.  Families connect with nature and one another and learn about nature-based early childhood education.  We engage children through song, reading nature-based stories, and free play.

 

Your child will benefit from regular socialization with a group of peers in the comforting presence of their parent or caregiver.  Parents appreciate spending time with an experienced educator, who serves as a resource regarding preschool, parenting, and more!

 

Our Malden playgroup will meet on the following Wednesdays:

  • 10/26

  • 11/2

  • 11/9

  • 11/30

  • 12/7

 

The time of the class runs from 10:00 AM - 11:15 AM.  Tuition will be $75.
