The children are active participants in selecting which places within the Arboretum we visit each day and how we explore them.

Hours and Schedule

Mornings: 9 am – 12 pm for children ages 2.9 through 6

Afternoons (NEW!): 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for children ages 4 - 6

For the morning program, children may attend 2, 3, 4, or 5 days per week.  

The afternoon program is 5 days/week.

We loosely/approximately follow the Boston Public Schools schedule, and may offer optional February Break Week and April Break Week programs at an additional cost based on demand and teacher availability.

Daily Rhythm

9 a.m.: Drop-off near Peter's Hill Gate

--> Morning Circle

  • Greetings, song, seasonal events, and safety rules

--> Hike to an "adventure spot" (varies each day)

--> Emergent curriculum in nature

  • Play, guided exploration, nature walks, projects, etc.

12 p.m.: Hike back to Peter's Hill Gate for pick-up


Annual tuition for 5 mornings per week: $7750 (10 monthly payments of $750)

Annual tuition for 4 mornings per week: $6800 (10 monthly payments of $680)

Annual tuition for 3 mornings per week: $6000 (10 monthly payments of $600)

Annual tuition for 2 mornings per week: $5600 (10 monthly payments of $560)

An enrollment fee of $100 is required to reserve your spot.

  • The teachers will invite you and your child for a visit to see our program in action.  An enrollment packet will be available at this time.

  • Registration is complete and your child's spot is secured once we have received a completed enrollment packet and the non-refundable enrollment fee of $100.

Update (7/10/20): Our morning program has a waiting list.  We have openings in our afternoon program and at our Wellesley and North End locations.
