Half Day Preschool

Entirely outdoors, ages 2.9 through 6

Location

Drop-off and pick-up is outdoors near Peter's Hill.  Click here for a map of the arboretum.

The children are active participants in selecting which places within the Arboretum we visit each day and how we explore them.

Hours and Schedule

Mornings: 9 am – 12 pm for children ages 2.9 through 6

Afternoons: 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for children ages 4 - 6

We loosely follow the Boston Public Schools schedule.  

February Break Week and April Break Week programs are not offered during covid.

Daily Rhythm

9 a.m.: Drop-off near Peter's Hill Gate

--> Morning Circle

  • Greetings, song, seasonal events, and safety rules

--> Hike to an "adventure spot" (varies each day)

--> Emergent curriculum in nature

  • Play, guided exploration, nature walks, projects, etc.

12 p.m.: Hike back to Peter's Hill Gate for pick-up

Tuition for school-year 

2021-2022  

Mornings: (ages 2.9 - 6):

Annual tuition for 5 mornings/week: 

$10,800 (10 monthly payments of $1,080)

Annual tuition for 3 mornings/week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday): 

$7,500 (10 monthly payments of $750)

Annual tuition for 2 mornings/week (Tuesday, Thursday):

$5000 (10 monthly payments of $500)

Enrollment Fee: $200

Afternoons: (ages 4 - 6):

Annual tuition for 5 afternoons/week: 

$8,000 (10 monthly payments of $800)

Annual tuition for 3 afternoons/week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday): 

$5,600(10 monthly payments of $560)

Annual tuition for 2 afternoons/week (Tuesday, Thursday):

$3,750 (10 monthly payments of $375)

Enrollment Fee: $200​

To be eligible your child must be at least 2 years and 9 months of age by the first day of school.  (If your child turns 2.9 during the school year and if there is an opening available at that time, we may be able to accept them).

There are currently no openings for the 2020-21 school-year.  Registration for the 2021-22 school year opens January 15.
